Call for Nominations for the 2008 Presidential Lecturer - due April 16 23, 2007

On Sunday, February 25, Kevin Campbell, Professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, presented the 2007 Annual Presidential Lecture, "Molecular Basis of Muscular Dystrophy and Approaches to Therapy."  This marked the 24th year that the President of the University of Iowa has extended an invitation to a member of the faculty to present the Presidential Lecture.  Those considered for the honor and the honorarium are selected from a list of faculty nominated by colleagues on the basis of national or international recognition of their creativity and scholarship.  The list of past Presidential Lecturers can be found below.  More information is also available at the following URL:  http://www.uiowa.edu/president/lecture/index.html.

The Presidential Lecturer Selection Committee invites you to nominate faculty colleagues whose work is nationally and internationally distinguished for its creativity and importance and for its broad academic, professional and social appeal.

Nomination materials should include the nominee's CV along with a letter of support describing the nominee's major accomplishments and the reasons the person would be considered a strong candidate for this honor.  The materials, which are due by Monday, April 16 23, 2007, should be sent to John C. Keller, Chair, Presidential Lecturer Selection Committee, Graduate College, 205 Gilmore Hall.
