2006 NRC Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs - revised 12/4/06
Student Questionnaire
Finalized 11/03/06 -
click here for final questionnaire in pdf.
The student questionnaire has received both NRC and University of Iowa
institutional IRB approval . Post-comp students in five UI
doctorate programs (Chemical Engineering, Economics, English, Neuroscience, and
Physics) will be sent the Student Questionnaire by email. The
Graduate College will provide a list of student names, their uiowa
email address, and the campus mail address of their doctorate program.
Students will be contacted by email directly by Mathematic Policy
Research, the data management firm working with NRC. Student
participation in the survey is entirely voluntary. Neither the
student's program nor the Graduate College will be informed
whether or not a student completes the survey. Students who have
chosen to block their directory information as covered by FERPA will not
receive a survey.
The questionnaire covers the following areas: prior education, post-graduate plans, professional development, resources, and demographic characteristics. This questionnaire is "experimental" in the sense that NRC will not report data from it by program if they receive low response rates.
The completed questionnaires are due from students no later than April 1, 2007.
