Grant Revenue from UI Graduate Scholars Tops $1 million
The UI Division of Sponsored Programs reports that graduate students at the University of Iowa brought in $1,103,257 in grant funding during FY2005.
Grant funds brought in by graduate students have increased by more than 15% each year over the last three years.

Graduate scholars recognized at Hancher-Finkbine dinnerThree UI graduate students were recognized at the 89th anniversary Finkbine Dinner, one of the university's most prestigious award ceremonies.
Graduate student Sarah Celeste Vigmostad received the Hancher/Finkbine Graduate/Professional Student Medallion, the highest honor awarded to students for outstanding leadership, learning, and loyalty.
Graduate students Darren Samuel Hoffmann, Florin Ilie Oprescu, and Treniece La'Shay Terry were among six students to receive the Distinguished Student Leader Certificate. This award recognizes students who have exhibited meritorious qualities in leadership, learning and loyalty.
Applications for degree this spring are up from previous years, and the Graduate College Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13 could include over 120 Ph.D.s and over 600 master's. Over 55 departments may have students receiving degrees.
