Postdoctoral Research/Fellow Salary
The Graduate College recommends when appointing new Postdoctoral Research Scholars (FP01) and Postdoctoral Research Fellows (FP02) that the salaries be determined by the NIH/NRSA salary guidelines.
As of January 28, 2008, NIH recommends the following salaries determined by years of experience (the 2008 salary levels remain the same as the 2007 levels - they are unchanged from last year):
0 - $36,996
1 - $38,976
2 - $41,796
3 - $43,428
4 - $45,048
5 - $46,992
6 - $48,852
7 - $51,036
The Graduate College strongly advocates utilizing these salaries. If for some reason you cannot meet this salary requirement, a letter of justification must be attached to the Form F.
The College is concerned about equity for current postdoctoral scholars/fellows and encourages departments to bring their salaries into alignment with new hires.
