A position for a postdoctoral research fellow is immediately available focused on basic electrophysiologic mechanisms of cardiac disease and cardiac energetics. Projects include examination of the physiologic role of potassium channels in maintenance of cellular energetic homeostasis and resistance to injury under stress, regulation of potassium channel current, and design therapeutic strategies. The position requires the ability to work with small animals, isolated tissue and single cells. Experience with the patch clamp technique is essential. The ability to design, execute and interpret experiments is expected. Candidates must have an MD or PhD degree.
