| Research Description | Preparation of an instructor's guide to accompany a textbook that I am writing on the Sociology of Education. |
| Undergraduate Role | Review literature and find examples of well-designed instructor's guides, and then collaborate with me on the design, format, organization, etc. of this one. Attention to use of graphics, artwork, etc. as well as written consent. |
| Minimum Qualifications | Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to work hard. Some background in social science or education would be nice, but is not required. |

Inequalities in Access to Work-Related Education

| Research Description | I will be using the 2003 National Household education Survey to examine the factors that block the participation of lower income and less educated individuals in work related education and training. I focus in particular on barriers faced by women and racial and ethnic minorities. |
| Undergraduate Role | Review literature, assist with data analysis and interpretation and writing up research results. |
| Minimum Qualifications | Some social science or education background would be helpful but is not strictly required. Willingness to learn some basic statistical computer programming. |
