Research Description To make short historical documentaries and distribute them online.
Undergraduate Role Research potential topics; write scripts; produce storyboards; find and photograph images; find sounds and music; compose the films themselves.
Minimum Qualifications None, but some facility with computers and interest in visual story telling would be a plus.

Research Description To establish and understand the significance of race in midwestern Civil War history and memory.
Undergraduate Role Survey nineteenth and twentieth century newspaper reporting on issues of historical interest, in mainstream and African American newspapers; and read widely in secondary sources to develop a historical context for these issues.
Minimum Qualifications Course background in US, African American or Native American History.
