SROP Expectations for Scholars
All SROP participants are required to:
- Complete a signed contract at the time of acceptance to participate in the program.
- Complete the entire 8-week SROP program. The objectives of this program are substantial and require a full-time commitment. Students should not register for classes during the program unless required by the supervising mentor and permission is granted by the SROP Program Coordinator.
- Complete all scheduled assignments.
- Attend all weekly seminars and evening discussion groups.
- Meet with program staff to review development of written and oral assignments.
- Write a final paper summarizing your research to be submitted at the end of the program with other assignments as a portfolio.
- Prepare and submit an abstract and a poster. This poster will be presented at the UI Summer Undergraduate Research Conference and at the CIC SROP Conference (Michigan State University, July 25-27, 2008).
- Present your research at the UI Summer Undergraduate Research Conference (Date tbd).
- Present your research at the Annual CIC SROP Conference. You will have an opportunity to present your poster and participate in informal round table research talks.
- Complete the End-of-Program Survey.
