Requirements for ETD Submission
Graduate College Rules for ETD Submission
A student submitting an ETD, and all accompanying paperwork, is bound by
the same deadlines and format requirements as a student who submits a
traditional hard-copy thesis. A submission will be considered
incomplete, and a student may not be allowed to graduate that session,
if material is missing from either the ETD or required paperwork at the
time of first or final deposit.
Please note that a student may not switch the
format of his/her thesis after the first deposit submission. If a
student submits an electronic thesis or dissertation at first deposit,
the final deposit must also be submitted as an ETD. In contrast,
if a student submits a hard-copy thesis or dissertation at first
deposit, the final deposit must be in hard-copy format.
At the time that all thesis materials (hard-copy sheets and the ETD)
have been received, the Graduate College will review only the student’s
most recent deposit of his/her ETD that meets the Graduate College’s
first-deposit deadline date. The deposit is to be in complete and final
form; it should not be considered a working draft. A Thesis Examiner
will notify the student by e-mail that the review process has begun, and
that additional ETD submissions for that deposit deadline will not be
accessed for review. The student will receive feedback from the Examiner
once s/he has finished checking the thesis. The student will then need
to make the requested changes and submit his/her final thesis deposit.
As with the first deposit, the Graduate College will review only the
student’s most recent deposit of his/her ETD that meets the Graduate
College’s final-deposit deadline date. The student will again receive an
e-mail notifying the student that the review process has begun. Once the
Examiner has completed his/her review, the student will receive e-mail
notifying him/her that the thesis has either been cleared or additional
revisions are required.
Please note that
all deadlines for ETD submission follow the current Graduate College
calendar.
