Minimum Requirements

These are general minimum requirements of the Graduate College; those of individual departments may be higher.

Applicants must have:

• a U.S. bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or an equivalent degree from another country as determined by the Office of Admissions.
• a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00, or foreign equivalent as determined by the Office of Admissions.

Non-degree Enrollment

If you wish to enroll in graduate-level classes at the University of Iowa, but you aren't seeking admission to a departmental program, you should apply as a non-degree graduate student.
