Sociology of Education Textbook

Research Description Preparation of an instructor's guide to accompany a textbook that I am writing on the Sociology of Education.
Undergraduate Role Review literature and find examples of well-designed instructor's guides, and then collaborate with me on the design, format, organization, etc. of this one. Attention to use of graphics, artwork, etc. as well as written consent.
Minimum Qualifications Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to work hard. Some background in social science or education would be nice, but is not required.

Inequalities in Access to Work-Related Education

Principal Investigator David Bills, Associate Professor
Department(s): Educational Policy and Leadership Studies, College of Education
Research Description I will be using the 2003 National Household education Survey to examine the factors that block the participation of lower income and less educated individuals in work related education and training. I focus in particular on barriers faced by women and racial and ethnic minorities.
Undergraduate Role Review literature, assist with data analysis and interpretation and writing up research results.
Minimum Qualifications Some social science or education background would be helpful but is not strictly required. Willingness to learn some basic statistical computer programming.
