National Nursing Home Social Services Study

 Research Description
  1. To describe the characteristics of people who serve as social service directors in U.S. nursing home. 
  2. To describe the resources they have to do their job.
Undergraduate Role
  1. Help with on-going literature review.
  2. Participate in discussions about data analyses.
  3. Participate in discussions about the research findings. 
Minimum Qualifications Willingness to learn how to locate written research materials in the UI library. Ability to read articles and summarize in terms of the relevance to the present study.  Ability to express ideas in writing and in conversation, in English.

Research Description To learn what parents in substance treatment think are most helpful in their recovery process.  To learn what youth ages 8-18 years have to say about their parent's substance abuse and treatment services. 
Undergraduate Role To work closely with the PI and graduate research assistant in all phases of the project.

Tracking Adolescents in Drug Abuse Treatment Research

  1. Learn comprehensive assessment system for at risk teens.
  2. Recruit teens and parents into longitudinal research.
  3. Conduct follow-up evaluation sessions with teens and parents.

  1. Observe and assist comprehensive assessments.
  2. Assist with and conduct recruitment sessions.
  3. Assist with and conduct follow-up sessions.
Minimum Qualifications Interest in behavioral and/or longitudinal research. Interest in adolescent drug abuse treatment.
