Air Travel

The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) outside of Cedar Rapids is the nearest airport to Iowa City, being 18 miles (29.1km), north of the city and served by the following domestic airlines: American Airlines, ATA Connection, Delta Connection, Comair, Northwest, United Airlines.  You can travel to Iowa City from this airport by car rental, shuttle or taxi.

Alternatively, the next nearest airport is the Quad Cities International Airport (MLI) in Moline Illinois. Located 68 miles (110km) east of Iowa City, it is served by AirTran, ATA Connection, Delta Connection, Northwest Airlines and United Airlines.

Driving Directions

From Eastern Iowa Airport/Cedar Rapids:
Take I-380 South to I-80 East, then to Exit #244 Dubuque Street.
Take Dubuque Street to Market Street and turn right.
Follow down the hill.  At the bottom of the hill (Madison Street) you will
be making a left turn and a right turn at the following stop sign.  This is the
Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) parking area near the center of campus.  The IMU has information regarding campus and tours.


From Interstate 80 (East or West):
Take I-80 toward Iowa City to Exit #244 Dubuque Street.
Take Dubuque Street to Market Street and turn right.
