Kristina, who lives in Boone, Iowa, is the Analytical Chemistry Manager for the Field Development team at BASF Plant Science, L.P. in Ames, IA. She is responsible for leading communication across a broad range of operational and project stakeholder groups to secure resources for, plan, and execute high-throughput field-to-laboratory plant sample processing and analysis activities. She also manages small-plot field research activities in collaboration with local laboratory staff and regional field teams, and a highly-interactive global network of people and laboratories.
Kristina earned her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (Fungal Natural Products) at the University of Iowa in 2011. During her time at the University of Iowa, she served in active roles in the Graduate Student Senate (President, Jakobsen Conference Co-Chair), Executive Council of Graduate and Professional Students, and the Graduate Council. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Bradley University (Peoria, IL) in 2005.
Previously, Kristina worked for Kemin Human Nutrition and Health in Des Moines, IA, and the Bacterial Foodborne Pathogens & Mycology Research Unit at the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR), USDA, ARS in Peoria, IL.
