Mechanisms of Chemotherapy Resistance in Head and Neck Cancer

Research description

Dr. Burnett’s research focuses on the relationship between EGFR and AKT signal transduction pathways, energy metabolism and NADPH oxidase (NOX)-induced oxidative stress in cancer cells to develop highly targeted strategies to improve cancer patient treatment and outcomes.  
 

Undergraduate minimum qualifications

Must be a current biology or biology-related major.

Undergraduate role

SROP/McNair scholars will learn basic lab techniques and apply them to their own research projects. Scholars will also learn to analyze data and present their work to their peers.
